Simultaneity

While we often believe our actions to be independent, most are determined by our relationships to others, as well as unacknowledged and invisible forces.

Indeed, we can envision such interactions within the frame of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity--which predicted the relationship between objects influenced by unseen forces, simultaneously dependent, but perceived to act independently of one another.  It is a dance in space and time relative to their mass and distance—simultaneously repelled and uncontrollably attracted each other.

And so it is with this exhibition.  Common materials of Paper, Salt and Mirrors that invisibly populate our daily environments and routines are re-contextualized, such that these mundane objects are transformed and can serve a larger symbolic meaning.  Of course, the sense one makes of this exhibition depends entirely upon the Observers’ historical and cultural reference points, as well as the influence of social connectivity—the ultimate in human-scale simultaneity.
